Fretted Clavichord built by Brad Bennight (2010) after Hubert. This beautiful instrument has recently undergone a careful and full restoration and ready for a new home. It has been my personal instrument since it was built.

The case, lid, nameboard, and stand are all of solid cherry, which has naturally matured to a rich warm tone over time. The exterior has been refreshed with a traditional shellac finish, applied by hand and rubbed out to a soft satin sheen. The interior surfaces have been left untouched, maintaining an historically restrained appearance. Brass hardware and tangents have been cleaned and retained. Carved key levers throughout compass.

Mechanically, the instrument has been fully serviced, with regulation of the keyboards and tangents. The instrument has been completely restrung in brass, resulting in improved tuning stability, clarity of tone, and dynamic control. The listing cloth is likewise new.

This instrument is structurally sound, fully regulated, and ready for immediate sale.
